I’ve been loving wearing my me mades every day and have found dressing over the past week & a bit a pleasure. I work part time at my big girl job (working for ‘da man’ in Human Resources) and in my spare time from my home on my business (Indie Stitches, a sewing pattern boutique). While I’m working from home I am doing it around a little ones routine. When I have a busy day at home (most are busy but some more than others) I try to dress like I am working outside the house. I feel it helps me focus on the tasks at hand rather than getting side tracked with sewing, knitting and episodes of Buffy or Downton Abbey (I have diverse tastes).
Whilst I have been enjoying working my me mades into my outfits everyday, I've been finding it really challenging to take photos of my daily wears. I know that its is not a mandatory part of Me Made May but I do want to do it both to show what I am wearing and for myself. I'm not always able to set up the tripod and use my ridiculously obvious remote. It probably seems like it would be pretty easy but when you've got a small human trying to climb the tripod its really not such a great idea. I get my dear friend at my big girl job to take some for me though they are little blurry sometimes because we are giggling. Wal isn't always around at the times when I need him to take pictures. When he leaves for work in the morning I am still in my PJs and when he gets home he plays with our little one while I do the Indie Stitches post box run so I can make the days mail before 6pm. By the time we have all eaten and our son is bathed, fed and put to bed we are stuffed and the last thing on our mind is taking photos. SO I end up doing an “on the edge of the bath” awkward selfie during the day. In the coming weeks I will make a bigger effort with the photo taking... I promise. hmmm perhaps I should just invest in a full length mirror. It would be much safer than hanging off the edge of the bath!

Wednesdays are my favourite because me and this guy get to hang out all day. I wore my Wiksten Tank Dress. This is just one of many Wiksten Tank Dresses. I was obsessed with making these for a little while. So quick and easy. It looks like more of a top here than a dress but I assure you its longer and the baby carrier makes it ride up. It comes to above my knee. I had it on with my blue footless tights earlier in the day but knowing I was going to use the carrier I changed to jeans. |

Fridays are full of running around- Shopping, swimming lessons, house work. I wore my grey Lola.
So theres my round up for week 2. I'm looking forward to next week though I think it will become a little more challenging as I am starting to realise I don't have many me mades left (I have given away pre baby ones that no longer fit). Hmmm without panic sewing I think I need to get cracking through my half mades and existing stash of fabric and patterns.
I hope you're enjoying your weekend. It's raining today so my veggies are getting a nice big drink. This and the fact that its Mother's day tomorrow is making me very very happy.
